The tragic death of Singayya during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s convoy visit to Rentapalla in Guntur has been one of the most debated political incidents in Andhra Pradesh over the past few weeks. The incident initially brought heavy criticism against the YSRCP chief, especially after visuals emerged of a man allegedly being run over by a convoy vehicle. Police even filed a criminal case and named Jagan as A2, further intensifying the political pressure.
Just as the controversy seemed to settle, a fresh twist has reignited the debate. Singayya’s wife Mary has now come forward making sensational claims that are shifting the political narrative once again.
In a surprise media appearance, Mary stated that her husband did not die after falling under a vehicle. She expressed strong doubts over the cause of death and suggested that someone might have killed him deliberately. She even claimed that her husband’s body had no visible injuries when she saw him and that something suspicious may have happened after he was taken in the ambulance.
What has raised political eyebrows even more is her allegation that police and TDP leaders pressured her to file the case in a particular way. She specifically mentioned that some leaders came to her house using the name of Minister Nara Lokesh and insisted she register the complaint as per their instructions. She said this made the family deeply uncomfortable and delayed them from coming forward with the truth.
The TDP has taken serious note of these claims and is viewing them as a deliberate political setup. Senior party leaders strongly believe this sudden turn of events is not organic and allege that the YSRCP is behind this strategic move to protect Jagan and simultaneously target Lokesh. They suspect that some are attempting to flip the blame and create public confusion by dragging Lokesh into the controversy.
TDP insiders argue that the statements made by Singayya’s wife seem too calculated and are being used to tarnish Lokesh’s image at a time when his political presence is steadily rising. They also point to the timing of these comments, which came shortly after the High Court imposed a stay on further proceedings against Jagan in the case. This, they say, cannot be a coincidence.
What was once a straightforward legal case is now tangled in a political web. With both TDP and YSRCP accusing each other of narrative manipulation, the tragic death of Singayya has become hot topic now. As investigations continue and court proceedings resume, the political drama around this incident is only expected to deepen.
