In the five years of Jagan regime, not even namesake companies looked at Andhra Pradesh as a prospective investment capital. But after the onset of the NDA government, things are starting to change very quickly as tech giants like Microsoft, Cisco and TCS are actively perceiving investment opportunities in the state now.
In this context, something pretty significant has happened as Microsoft as principal in understanding to set up a quantum research Centre in the capital region of Amaravati.
As per media reports, the Microsoft has principal decided to set up one of its quantum research wings in Amaravati after consultations with the government of Andhra Pradesh. A related memorandum of understanding(MoU) is likely to be signed soon and that would cement the deal that is already close to finalisation.
Microsoft is reportedly planning to set up its facility in Amaravati spanning around 4000 ft.² and related arrangements are being made now.
This significant investment is primarily due to the kind of professional relationship that Chandrababu has built over the years with Microsoft commander in chief Bill Gates. The two of them had met a couple of times recently, once in Davos and once in Delhi.
Reportedly Bill Gates is completely impressed with the AI vision that Chandrababu proposed, and this could have been an instigating factor for the inception of the Microsoft facility in Amravati, which could potentially pave way for other global giants as well.
