Telangana CM Revanth Reddy is now facing heat from within his own party. Several Congress leaders who were overlooked for cabinet posts are reportedly growing restless, and their discontent is starting to show publicly.
At a recent public event in Palamuru on Friday evening, CM Revanth made a strong political statement saying that “a son of Palamuru will be the Chief Minister till 2034,” clearly referring to himself. He even said he would continue as CM for the next 10 years. This remark sparked a political storm, not from the opposition, but from his own party leaders.
Senior leader and MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy openly questioned the statement, asking, “How can he say that?” He emphasized that in the Congress party, it is the high command that decides leadership, not individual leaders declaring their own tenure.
Raj Gopal Reddy demanded that Revanth withdraw his comments and said a formal complaint would be made to the party leadership. He reminded everyone that it was the Congress high command that made Revanth the CM and that all party decisions are dictated by the central leadership, not personal ambitions.
He added that Revanth is only the Chief Minister, not the owner of the party. If any leader tries to turn the party into a personal fiefdom, the consequences would be serious. He also said that several Congress workers and leaders have been loyal to the party for decades, and they would not tolerate such self-centered statements.
This kind of internal rift and public criticism from party members reflects the typical Congress dynamic, where internal politics often overshadow leadership stability. That’s Congress party for you.
