Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy fulfilled his promise to singer Rahul Sipligunj by announcing a prize money of Rs. 1 crore. Earlier, Revanth Reddy promised to felicitate Rahul with a cash prize for singing the Oscar-winning track “Naatu Naatu” in SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
While attending the Bonalu festivities in the Old City today, Revanth Reddy announced that the Congress government will soon hand over the cash prize to Rahul. In May 2023, Revanth Reddy criticized the former BRS government for not felicitating Rahul after Naatu Naatu’s Oscar win. At that time, he announced a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakhs to Rahul and promised to gift him Rs. 1 crore if Congress came into power.
Eventually, Congress assumed power in December 2023. After that, Rahul mentioned that no one had taken any initiative regarding the cash prize. Recently, at the Gaddar Film Awards, Revanth Reddy appealed to Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to recognize Rahul’s achievements and assured that he would soon fulfill his promise. Keeping his promise, Revanth Reddy has now officially announced a cash prize of 1 crore rupees for Rahul and appreciated him as an inspiration for many youngsters.
