Pics: ‘Grand Canyon of India’, Thanks to CM Naidu

Today, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu shared a few stunning photos from Gandikota. Often called the “Grand Canyon of India,” Gandikota is a natural wonder located in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. These breathtaking images quickly grabbed attention and filled locals with pride. The canyon, carved by the Pennar River, looked even more beautiful in the pictures shared by the Chief Minister.

One photo showed Naidu standing alone, gazing at the vast view. In others, he was seen talking with a small group, possibly about the area’s tourism potential. The deep rocky cliffs, the peaceful river, and the greenery around made the entire scene look like a picture from a dream. His post asked, “Stunning view, isn’t it? Can you guess where this is?” and many people immediately replied with excitement, identifying the place as Gandikota.

This comes at a time when Naidu is actively pushing to make Andhra Pradesh a top tourist destination. A few months ago, during the Tourism Tech Conclave in Vijayawada, he announced several incentives for those investing in tourism. These include stamp duty exemptions, electricity duty reimbursements, and SGST returns. Sharing Gandikota’s beauty now fits perfectly into that larger plan.

Gandikota is around 15 km from Jammalamadugu and holds historical importance too. It was once a stronghold of rulers like the Kalyani Chalukyas and Pemmasani Nayakas. The famous fort and the canyon between the Erramala hills offer a perfect mix of adventure and history. The government has already invested ₹3 crore to develop facilities like trekking routes and better lodging at the Haritha hotel.

Many on social media praised Naidu’s post and suggested improving roads and connectivity to attract more tourists. With these pictures going viral, Gandikota is now in the spotlight. Tourists, travel lovers, and adventure seekers are all adding it to their bucket lists.

Naidu’s effort to promote Andhra Pradesh’s natural beauty seems to be working. If things go right, Gandikota might soon become one of the top travel spots in India. For now, these pictures have done the job of showing how much beauty the state holds.
