Newly appointed Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan is the new addition to the long list of actors who had held political positions. He was recently nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the DMK party in Tamil Nadu.

Shortly, after his oath taking ceremony, the legendary actor took the occasion to meet with Prime Minister Modi, and he shared a related picture of his social media handles. 

Today, I had the honour of meeting the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi ji. As a representative of the people of Tamil Nadu and as an artist, I placed before him a few requests, foremost among them was the call to expedite the recognition of Keeladi’s antiquity.

I urged the Prime Minister to extend his support to the Tamil people in showcasing to the world the grandeur of Tamil civilisation and the timeless glory of the Tamil language, Kamal tweeted on this matter shortly after. 

This picture of the legendary South Indian actor with the prime minister of India is now going viral as people are finding the amusing contrast in personalities very intriguing.

Recently, Kamal made headlines by stating that “education is the only weapon capable of breaking the chains of dictatorship and Sanatana,” remarks that drew sharp criticism from the Tamil Nadu BJP.

Party leaders even called for a boycott of his upcoming films, urging people not to watch them. Yet, as a newly appointed Rajya Sabha MP, Kamal’s cordial meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi stands as a reminder that, regardless of political differences or ideological clashes, leaders must come together and collaborate for the greater good of the people.
