The stage is set for the nomination of the new Vice President of India, and given the NDA alliance’s strength in Parliament, their candidate’s victory looks like a mere formality.
The NDA Alliance had already communicated that CP Radhakrishnan will be their candidate for the upcoming vice president election and he is being strengthened by the alliance parties, including TDP.
Incidentally, the upcoming vice president held a high-level meeting with TDP MPs in Delhi yesterday and this was attended by IT Minister Nara Lokesh, who also happened to be in Delhi.
During his interaction with the vice president candidate, Lokesh appeared to be in great spirits as he was evidently smiling bright and appeared to be enjoying the conversation. Radhakrishnan also appeared to be fully indulging in conversation with Lokesh and the TDP MPs.
The camaraderie that Lokesh is establishing with the NDA bigwigs, including the upcoming vice president, could be an indication of the sharp shift of power dynamic with the TDP scion preparing for the big transition soon.
Chandrababu has the rich reputation of being one of the most influential members in national politics and the responsibility is now on Lokesh to carry forward this legacy.
