‘Won’t Come to Assembly’, Jagan Confirms Again?

It is the basic responsibility of an MLA to attend the Assembly session to voice his party’s views and also fight for funds for his constituency. But former chief minister YS Jagan is blatantly avoiding this responsibility as he has been outrightly skipping the Assembly sessions.

As per print media reports, in his latest interaction with party workers in Pulivendula, Jagan reportedly confirmed that he will not be setting foot in the Assembly.

Chandrababu challenged Jagan and the YCP to come to the Assembly to discuss and debate public policymaking, and even Speaker Ayyannapatrudu assured that adequate time would be given to Jagan to speak if he attends the sessions.

However, Jagan reportedly confirmed to his party workers that he will not attend the assembly until and unless he is given the opposition leader status. He wants the government to handover the letter to the speaker about appointing him as the opposition leader and only then would he partake in the same.

This was again confirmed by Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who challenged Chandrababu to give a position leader status to Jagan.

On the other hand, the government has been making it clear that the people of Andhra Pradesh have decided not to give opposition status to Jagan, which is why they gave his party 11 seats. So they are in no position to go against the public work and give opposition status to Jagan and his party.

While this turbulence continues, it appears that Jagan is an absolutely no mood to come to assembly in the near future.
