Keep An Eye On Social Media, Pawan @ Collectors Conference!

The kind of misinformation peddling and manipulation that has been happening on social media has become problematic for the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh. This point was addressed by deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan in the collectors conference that was held yesterday.

Along with chief minister, Chandrababu, even DCM Kalyan attended this conference and here’s what he had to say on several crucial topics. 

“There are caste centric and communal wars that are happening at alarming levels. Keep an active focus on social media and the kind of manipulation that is happening here. Every problematic post must be scrutinised and adequate surveillance must be enforced.” Kalyan said. 

The deputy chief minister further added that women safety must be prioritised above all else be it on social media or in real life. 

Kalyan further instructed the police department to pay special interest on the Sugali Preeti issue as well. At the same time, he emphasised the need to crack down on drug peddling and illegal activities. 

Kalyan had been repeatedly calling for strict measures against social media misuse, and he had the same point to make the collectors conference as well. If this is taken up effectively at district level, then there could be pretty positive results sooner than later.
