Over the last few weeks, the onion farmers in Andhra Pradesh had been facing an agonising situation due to plummeting prices. However, the government of Andhra Pradesh has now come to the rescue in a very timely manner.
According to the latest communication from Cabinet Minister, Atchannaidu, it is decided by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, that the government would be paying ₹50,000 to onion farmers in the state.
“Generally, in the case of a natural disaster, the central government would compensate around ₹17,000 per hectare for farmers. But for the first time in history, our chief minister Chandrababu has decided to provide ₹50,000 aid to onion farmers.” Atchannaidu said.
The senior minister pointed out that never in the history of agricultural sector was such a huge compensation package announced by any government till date. This makes it clear that chief minister Chandrababu is fully committed to the farming community.
Once this compensation comes to effect, the prevailing incumbency would be absolutely wiped away. This would also denounce the strategy put up by Jagan to gain political mileage by highlighting the plight of onion farmers.
Even earlier, Chandrababu managed to mitigate the situation by providing compensation to mango farmers which was received very well. He is now on a mission to pull up something on these lines with onion farmers this time.
