In the recent past, it has become extremely common for political parties to announce record keeping books of their own. It originated with Lokesh starting red book phenomenon and it was followed by Kavitha announcing BRS’s pink book and Jagan himself speaking about digital book.
However, this phenomena was rightly turned down by the newly appointed DGP of Telangana, Shashidhar Reddy.
In his first press conference as the new DGP of the state, Reddy made a very interesting comment, which has political context. He clearly pointed out that Telangana police will operate without any political apprehensions.
“There will be no Red book, Pink book, Or blue book in Telangana. There is only one book is going to be khaki book. We will enforce law and order to the fullest, and there will be no second thoughts about it. There is no room for political apprehension in policing and we will keep it that way.”
This could be a strong indication that there will be no political revenge activities using Telangana police under Revanth Reddy’s leadership. Such statements from the DGP will reflect rightly on the entire police system and that’s pretty much what’s needed at this point.
