The tragic stampede during Vijay’s TVK party rally in Karur has not only shaken Tamil Nadu but also sparked a new political discussion. While the incident led to massive criticism of the state government, BJP leader and actress Khushbu’s remarks have added an interesting twist, hinting at a possible new political alignment in the state.
Khushbu openly called the Karur stampede a “planned conspiracy” and accused the DMK government led by Chief Minister Stalin of negligence. Her statements, coming just days after Vijay accused the ruling government of mishandling the event, have raised eyebrows in political circles. Both leaders blaming the same government in similar tones has led to speculation that the BJP might be warming up to Vijay’s growing political presence.
The BJP has been struggling to gain a strong foothold in Tamil Nadu politics for years. Vijay’s TVK, on the other hand, has been emerging as a major force, especially among the youth. With both parties attacking the DMK on governance and law-and-order issues, observers feel that a subtle understanding might already be taking shape between the two camps.
The situation became even more interesting when the Madras High Court ordered an SIT probe into the tragedy and criticized TVK’s poor planning. While the DMK government released videos to shift the blame back onto TVK, BJP leaders like Khushbu continued to highlight government failures, aligning indirectly with Vijay’s narrative.
Political analysts believe that while no official alliance is on the table yet, both BJP and Vijay’s TVK seem to be moving closer on several common issues, governance, accountability, and anti-DMK sentiment.
