One of the principal challenges for deputy CM Pawan Kalyan in his own constituency of Pithapuram was solving the issues faced by the fishermen community locally. He took a significant step in this regard with his visit here today.
On the occasion, Kalyan announced that every issue raised by the fishermen and their opinions would be understood, and a comprehensive plan would be implemented within 100 days to resolve them.
Regarding the industrial pollution reported by the fishermen of the Uppada region, he directed PCB officials to conduct a pollution audit and submit a report within a week. He stated that he would personally visit the polluted coastal areas within 3-4 days to assess the pollution situation firsthand.
Further, Kalyan assured that the NDA government would fully support the fishermen in every way and would resolve their issues promptly by discussing them with other ministerial departments. He informed the fishermen that the Uppada retainining wall would be completed without fail.
Kalyan then implemented a substantial program as he handed over the compensation money of Rs 5 lakh each to the 18 families that had lost men while on fishing endeavour. A total of 90 lakh has been handed over to the affected families.
