A grand tribute is taking shape in the Andhra Pradesh capital region, Amaravati. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the designs for a 58-feet tall statue of Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu at the state secretariat today.
The statue will be installed at Shakamuru, in the 6.8 acres of land allotted by the government to the Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu Memorial Trust. This area is being developed as a Smruthi Vanam dedicated to the great freedom fighter who sacrificed his life for Andhra’s statehood.
The memorial park’s foundation was laid last month by Minister Nara Lokesh, and the government plans to unveil the statue on March 16 next year, marking the 125th birth anniversary of Potti Sriramulu.
The statue, aptly named the “Statue of Sacrifice,” will stand as a symbol of devotion, courage, and selflessness for generations to remember.
