Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has urged social media and digital media channels not to create panic with fake or misleading thumbnails about Cyclone Montha.
She said CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and she herself are continuously monitoring the situation from the RTG Center. District officials have been alerted, and special officers are already working in cyclone-affected areas.
Anitha pointed out that some YouTube channels and social media pages are posting exaggerated or false visuals that are unnecessarily scaring people. She warned that such actions are irresponsible and legal steps will be taken against those spreading fake news.
She requested all media platforms to act responsibly and share only verified updates from official government sources. The Home Minister also assured that the government is fully prepared to handle the situation, and people should not believe in rumors or panic-driven posts.
