Andhra Pradesh is bracing for what appears to be one of the worst cyclones in recent times. The administration, including the Chief Minister, Deputy CM, and IT Minister, are actively working at the Real-Time Governance Center.
However, the opposition leader Jagan Mohan Reddy is nowhere to be seen. He was initially scheduled to arrive in Andhra Pradesh through Gannavaram Airport.
But due to the severe weather conditions caused by the Montha Cyclone, the airport was shut down for public use. Subsequently, Jagan canceled his trip to Andhra Pradesh and stayed back in the comfort of his Bengaluru residence.
While the entire administration is on the ground handling the crisis, Jagan remains absent from the scene. Instead, he has issued statements advising people to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
The current Chief Minister and his team are tirelessly coordinating with multiple agencies at the RTGS, ensuring swift response and safety measures. In contrast, the former CM, who is expected to step up during such crucial times, is limiting his involvement to verbal advisories.
It remains to be seen how the YCP will respond to this situation and the growing criticism surrounding Jagan’s absence.
