Montha Landfall: Babu Completes 5-day Battle!

Right when the weather department assessed that the impending Montha Cyclone would cause a lot of devastation in Andhra Pradesh, chief minister Chandrababu got on the ground to mitigate the damage. Now that this cyclone has made landfall and safely cleared, Chandrababu has completed a hectic battle that lasted five days.

On the occasion, Chandrababu held an aerial survey to witness and assess the degree of damage done by the cyclone in the affected areas. Shortly after, he addressed the media and spoke about several factors associated with the relief operations. 

In his interaction with the media today, Chandrababu said “There has been a lot of devastation but we managed due to our preparedness. For the last 5 days, I had been personally monitoring the situation and over one lakh people in relief camps are being provided with all basic facilities. Due to our efforts, we were able to limit the number of deaths. Drainage is the biggest issue here. We will take drastic measures in this regard.”

The chief minister further instructed government authorities to stay vigilant and help the public whenever needed in the affected areas. He further mentioned that the degree of damage must be assessed and a detailed report must be sent to the central government upon the instruction of Prime Minister Modi.

The effective way in which the chief minister and his administration handled this otherwise challenging Cyclone is now perhaps a case study for all. Despite the severity of the situation, Andhra Pradesh could get away without much human loss. This is largely due to the hands-on approach taken by the top administration.
