Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy knows how to strike the right chord with people. During his campaign for the Jubilee Hills by-election, he made a surprise announcement that immediately caught everyone’s attention. He revealed that a statue of Telugu cinema legend and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) will soon be installed at Maitrivanam in Ameerpet.
Revanth said that NTR is a leader loved by everyone, and no one should have a problem with setting up his statue in Hyderabad. “NTR is a great leader we all admire. If anyone dares to oppose the installation of his statue, we will see their end and bury them in the Musi River,” Revanth declared emotionally, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
He added that he would personally attend the statue’s inauguration and entrusted Congress Jubilee Hills MLA candidate Naveen Yadav with the responsibility of executing the plan.
Though the TDP is not contesting in this by-election, Chandrababu Naidu has urged his party cadre to either support the BJP candidate or remain neutral. However, many TDP sympathizers have a soft corner for Revanth Reddy, given his long association with the party before joining Congress. His announcement about the NTR statue now seems to be a clever move to emotionally connect with TDP supporters and influence the polling outcome.
With NTR’s legacy still commanding immense respect in both Telugu states, Revanth’s latest political pitch could turn out to be a masterstroke in Jubilee Hills, potentially altering the voting trend in his party’s favor.
