While the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has been actively working on bringing new investments to the states, YCP has been trying to defend the same by saying they had already signed MoUs with many of these companies. This is a blatant attempt to claim the credit for the good work done by the NDA government.
But nevertheless, IT Minister Lokesh has been asking YCP to present the MoUs they had signed with the companies and saying he is more than happy to accredit them for it if they’ve really done sole good work.
Now Lokesh has taken another step further, as he has started to reach out to the companies that had earlier come to agreement during the previous YCP government tenure. This is an attempt to ensure the collective progress of Andhra Pradesh, regardless of the root cause.
While the previous YCP government tried to absolutely dismantle the investments brought by the 2014 TDP government, Lokesh is doing the opposite now by trying to get in touch with whatever few companies that came during the YCP tenure.
Analysts say the YCP was least bothered about youth and investments, and had very few effective MoUs. But Lokesh is not missing this opportunity to secure all possible investments for the state.
While debriefing on this matter, Lokesh stated “Government is a continuous institution. Parties may come and go, but the responsibility to support industry and honour commitments is permanent.
We have already reached out to investors who signed MoUs with the previous government, and we are actively providing them with an enabling, trustworthy environment. Policy continuity is essential for investor confidence, and we are fully committed to ensuring it.” This is the kind of fighting spirit that is expected from an IT minister and Lokesh is enabling the same.
