Women Empowerment: Lokesh Sets A Strong Example

Nara Lokesh has once again shown that he is serious about women empowerment and gender equality in Andhra Pradesh. He has been consistently speaking about changing how society views and treats women, and he repeated the message during a recent public meeting.

Lokesh said it is time to stop using old and insensitive phrases like “wearing a sari” or “wearing bangles” to describe anything weak or feminine. He also mentioned that he has been discussing with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan about reducing negative portrayals of women in films and web series.

He then shared an important step he personally took. Lokesh said he reviewed government school textbooks and noticed that all household chores in the images were shown being done only by women. He instructed the teams to change these pictures so that men and women are shown equally. “Now the books have a 50 percent representation of men and women in household tasks. This is how we begin change,” he said.

Gender equality has rarely been a priority in Telugu politics, but Lokesh appears to be taking it seriously. His efforts are sending a strong message that meaningful change begins with small corrections and consistent commitment.
