Sarpanch Polls Announced: Litmus Test For BRS

Revanth Reddy government in Telangana received a resoundingly positive public mandate in the recent Jubilee Hills election, and this is more or less a danger bell for BRS. Well, the KCR-led party is still recovering from the defeat, and they already have another big challenge at hand.

The Telangana election commission has issued the notification for the upcoming Sarpanch election, and these are going to start in December itself.

The official communication from the election commission confirms that this Sarpanch election will be held in three phases on December 11, 14 and 17, respectively.

The consequent election code will come to effect from today, November 25 itself in Telangana as the state will enter the election mode all over again. All the leading parties will have to start preparations for the upcoming Sarpanch election from now itself.

The crucial point is that Congress is already enjoying absolute power, and they also appear to have the public mandate on their side considering the Jubilee election result. So they will start as the natural favourite to sweep the upcoming Sarpanch collection.

On the other hand, BRS is fighting for existence in Telangana and they will have to hold their Ground at least in the Sarpanch election after the recent Jubilee debacle. This is going to be a battle of existence and power in Telangana, and it has to be seen who would emerge victorious.
