Big News: Center To Present Amaravati Amendment Bill?

Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu has been pushing the central government to present the amendment bill in the parliament to announce Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh. This is to safeguard the capital from any further detrimental movements in the future, either from Jagan or anyone else.

The latest updates from the national media channels are suggesting that the centre is now very close to following up on Chandrababu’s repeated pleas.

Reportedly the centre is close to finalising the amendment bill that would announce Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh following a gazette notification.

This legal amendment to the Andhra Pradesh recognition act section 5, could permanently see Amaravati as the capital of the state and thus prevent any other government in the future from meddling with this capital prospect.

Once the amendment bill is passed in the parliament by the centre, the gazette notification will be issued shortly and this would cement Amaravati’s position as the permanent capital. Related activities are happening quickly now and an official communication could be made soon.

It is being reported that the law ministry has approved the amendment bill and only a few final touches are pending now.
