It has been well over a decade since the formation of Telangana state through the bifurcation of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. Yet even today, several politicians in Telangana continue to use separatist sentiment to invoke public emotions.
Incidentally, KCR appears to be at the top of the list of leaders who frequently resort to such separatist narratives. He did so once again while addressing the Telangana media last evening.
KCR stated that the very formation of Andhra Pradesh has become a nuisance and a Curse for Telangana. “The very existence and formation of Andhra Pradesh (United AP) is a Curse for Telangana.” he said.
This wild and provocative comment from KCR has not gone down well on social media. Many users pointed out that the BRS president, who served as chief minister for ten years, is still speaking negatively about Andhra Pradesh.
If Andhra Pradesh was truly harming Telangana’s prospects, KCR had full authority and power for a decade to correct the situation. However, even after serving as CM for ten years, he continues to point fingers at AP, which appears incompetent, remarked a senior political observer.
Very rarely do we see leaders from Andhra Pradesh speaking ill of Telangana or falsely claiming that AP is being exploited by it. In contrast, in Telangana politics, fingers are often pointed at AP whenever there is a need to milk public sentiment.
