BRS MLA Wants Telangana Bhavan In Tirumala!

During the Telangana Assembly winter session, BRS MLA and former minister Gangula Kamalakar renewed the demand for a Telangana Bhavan in Tirumala, citing difficulties faced by Telangana public representatives after state bifurcation. He said MLAs and ministers and public from Telangana often struggle with accommodation and proper facilities during temple visits.

Kamalakar pointed out that Karnataka and Tamil Nadu already have their own bhavans in Tirumala, which makes visits easier for their leaders. He said Telangana representatives do not enjoy similar convenience or priority, even though the state has been in existence for several years.

He also referred to Sabarimala, stating that Telangana devotees and representatives face similar problems there as well. Kamalakar argued that other states have made proper arrangements for their people at major pilgrimage centres, while Telangana is still lagging behind.

However, the proposal is not a simple one. The decision ultimately lies with the Andhra Pradesh government and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. This has also sparked political debate, as BRS often targets the TDP and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, while at the same time expecting a friendly and cooperative approach from Andhra Pradesh. Whether this demand will move forward remains to be seen.
