Former BRS leader, KCR’s daughter Kavitha made emotional and serious allegations while speaking in the Legislative Council, breaking down as she shared her version of events. Kavitha said she was targeted and jailed by the BJP out of political vendetta against KCR, but claimed her own party did not stand by her when she fought cases involving the ED and CBI. Kavitha stated that whenever corruption allegations surfaced against KCR, she was the one who openly defended him, yet she felt abandoned when she needed support the most.
Speaking with visible emotion, Kavitha said her suspension from the party was carried out without even seeking her explanation. She expressed relief at distancing herself from what she called a party that had lost its moral ground. She alleged that for the last eight years, her efforts for the people were systematically blocked and that party aligned media channels and newspapers never supported her. According to her, questioning wrongdoings led to personal hostility, which eventually resulted in her expulsion.
Kavitha also alleged that corruption had crept into several areas, from the Ambedkar statue to the Amarajyothi issue, and said activists and those who raised direct questions were discriminated against. She firmly denied that her dispute was related to property matters, calling it a fight for self respect instead. Swearing on god and her two sons, she said she chose to walk away because she did not want to remain in a party lacking ethics, and requested that her resignation be accepted.
Responding to her speech, the Legislative Council Chairman said Kavitha’s anguish was understood and appealed to her to reconsider her resignation.
