Andhra Pradesh chief Minister Chandrababu Nadu has this rich heritage of travelling to Switzerland to take party in the World Economic Forum event that happens in Davos. And in the recent past, he is being accompanied by his son and AP IT Minister Nara Lokesh who now has an interesting take on the frequent Davos trips.
While Lokesh had arrived in Switzerland today to take part in the summit, he had earlier given an interview to a business channel and here is what he had to say about the real facts of these Davos trips.
These Davos trips are not meant just to boast about investment MoUs. We can sign multiple MoUs for the sake of it and publicise the numbers, but that defeats the real purpose. The Davos summit gives us a chance to meet global players and understand the next big trends in the technology and employment sectors, Lokesh said.
The IT minister pointed out that these Davos trips give the administration a clear view of the changing trends in the tech industry where they can ask the business heads some tough questions.
He adds that the recent Google mega investment in Vizag also started with a formal conversation at Davos in 2025 which led to materialisation and progress.
It is evident that Lokesh sees the Davos summit as a place to explore global potential rather than a media operation to boast about signing difunctional MOUs that serve no purpose. This perhaps explains why the AP government didn’t sign too many MOUs in 2025 despite Chandrababu meeting Bill Gates, and other top executives.
