Actress Renu Desai has strongly spoken out against the reported killing of street dogs, calling it unfair and insensitive. Speaking at a media interaction in Hyderabad, she expressed deep anger over how animals are being targeted in the name of public safety.

Renu questioned the logic behind blaming dogs for accidents and attacks, arguing that problems in society are never solved by eliminating an entire group. She pointed out that many causes lead to loss of human life every day, yet extreme actions are never taken in those cases. According to her, punishing all street dogs for the behavior of a few is neither humane nor logical.

She highlighted that only a small number of dogs show aggressive behavior, and dealing with those specific cases should not lead to mass killings. Renu also stated that data related to deaths from road accidents, diseases, and animal attacks is easily available, and such numbers clearly show that dogs are being unfairly singled out.

The actress further alleged that hundreds of sterilized dogs around Hyderabad have already been killed without valid reasons. She expressed pain over the fact that animals have no voice to defend themselves, which makes them easy targets. She insisted that if genuinely dangerous dogs are identified, animal welfare groups like hers are willing to take responsibility and care for them.

Responding to questions, Renu also spoke about social responsibility. She said she has been helping orphaned children for years without publicizing it. She questioned why people who speak loudly about dogs rarely raise their voices against other serious social issues like alcohol abuse, domestic violence, and road safety.
