The BJP had historically struggled to have any signs of cultural or political impact in Kerala, which is regarded as a far left state. However, it appears that Prime Minister Modi is out on a mission to expand the BJP prospect in Kerala.
Prime Minister arrived in Kerala earlier today to take part in the public campaign, and he went all out while appealing to the people of the state.
While Modi was addressing the massive public gathering in Thiruvananthapuram, a boy was seen holding a hand drawn painting of him and he reacted very positively.
“I have been seeing a child standing for long with his hands up in the air. You will get tired ‘beta’. Bring me the picture, write your address on the back, I will write to you. I urge the SPG to bring me this child’s love.” Modi said. The fact that the Prime Minister reacted so personally and positively to this young child and promised to revert back to him personally has grabbed the attention.
This was followed by another interesting incident involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kerala’s first BJP mayor, Rajesh. Modi warmly hugged the mayor during the interaction.
Soon after, a woman standing beside the mayor fell at the Prime Minister’s feet. Modi immediately reciprocated by bowing. This gesture is in line with a practice often followed by Modi, where he responds in the same manner when someone seeks his blessings by touching his feet.
These two incident grabbed all the attention of the common public at the Modi Public meeting in Thiruvananthapuram today and is expected to create a political discourse.
