Lokesh Returns From Davos With ₹90,000 Cr Investment

Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh was a man on a mission during the recent WEF summit in Davos, Switzerland. This time, it was Lokesh who was more proactive and interactive than his father and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu.

During this visit, which lasted four days, Lokesh attended a total of 45 programmes and had 25 one on one interactions with business heads.

The most significant investment secured by Lokesh on the trip was with RMZ Real Estate and Infrastructure, which has now confirmed an investment of around ₹90,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh, as part of a $10 billion deal.

It must be noted that the Andhra Pradesh government had already cemented ₹2.5 lakh crore in investments from the previous Davos trip. This figure relates to projects that were grounded from the earlier visit, and more materialisation is expected soon.

It is now being established that the aggressive approach taken by Lokesh, by promoting “speed of doing business,” could secure nearly double the tally from Davos 2025, meaning Andhra Pradesh could be in for a major push. Lokesh focused more on conceptual understanding with companies and business leaders rather than signing MoUs just for the sake of it. As a result, the real impact of this Davos trip will be felt in the future, similar to how investments from Google and Accenture materialised after the 2025 Davos visit.

Andhra Pradesh has come a long way from having a previous IT minister who was reluctant to attend this global summit, to a proactive minister like Lokesh, who is actively sealing deals in the state’s favour.
