The SIT that has been commissioned to investigate the phone tapping allegations against the previous BRS government representatives is investigating the case on priority. The investigating authority had already questioned Harish Rao and KTR in this connection.
As we had reported earlier in the day today, former chief minister KCR was also notified by the SIT to appear for investigation tomorrow, January 30.
However, just when everyone thought KCR would be appearing at the SIT office for investigation tomorrow, he pulled off a twist in the tale. KCR cited a legal remedy and replied to the police authorities that he would not be appearing for investigation at the SIT office tomorrow.
In his written reply to the police, KCR pointed out that “It is mandated by law that any male person above 65yrs is not required to attend the Police Station and the investigation team is required to examine such male person at the place in which such male person is residing.”
Subsequently, KCR has mentioned that he would be ready to take part in the investigation at his farm house in Erravalli, Siddipet, if the police wish to investigate him there. He asked them to pick a convenient date to investigate him at this premises with a prior notification.
The police might now have to take a reroute to investigate KCR, who has decided to avoid attending the SIT Office. It has to be seen if the authorities would accept KCR’s request and go to his farmhouse for the investigation process.
