The NDA government has taken the ongoing Tirumala laddu controversy very seriously and the fact that CM Chandrababu and DCM Kalyan addressed the media on priority on this matter today is an indication of the same.
DCM Pawan Kalyan alleged a major scam in the preparation of Tirumala Srivari Laddu prasadam during the previous YSRCP government. He claimed that palm oil and harmful chemicals were used instead of pure ghee in laddu preparation, hurting devotees’ faith and health.
He clarified the issue went up to the Supreme Court, but clarified that CBI has not given a clean chit at any stage. He accused the previous government of hurting Hindu sentiments and showing hostility towards religious traditions.
Presenting figures, Kalyan stated that a company officially supplied 59.70 lakh kg of palm oil to TTD, along with 1.7–2 lakh kg of chemicals. He added that CM Chandrababu spoke about the matter only after it was mentioned in the NDDB report.
The DCM questioned why a ghee supplier would procure such large quantities of palm oil and chemicals. Pawan termed it not just adulterated ghee, but adulterated vanaspati and palm oil.
He further alleged that one lakh laddus sent to Ayodhya for the Ram Mandir consecration were also made using the same adulterated material. He said sending adulterated prasadam even to a sacred national event deeply hurt Hindu sentiments.
Pawan Kalyan accused the previous government of having animosity towards God and Hindu traditions. He said exposing the truth is his responsibility and assured that facts will be brought before the public.
“We will not leave this issue till the end. We will make you kneel in front of Tirumala Venkateswara swamy. The NDA government is fully committed to the Hindu dharma.” Kalyan stated.
