KTR’s Verbal Attacks: A Risk to His Youth Appeal?

Former IT minister of Telangana and the operating working president of BRS, KTR is one of the progressive leaders, not just in Telangana politics, but also across the Indian arena. 

Thanks to his refined oratory skills and strong presence on social media, KTR could come closer to the younger generation of the population and predominantly student population who prefer educated and well spoken politicians. 

But things are starting to change drastically now after KTR has changed his political strategy in the recent weeks. His relentless verbal attacks on chief minister Revanth Reddy has started to show an adverse effect. 

Over the last few days, KTR had a set of derogatory comments against the chief minister by referring to him as “Pottoda neeku untadi ra” “Howlagallu” and others. These comments went viral on social media and have drawn a wide range of reactions.

While a few BRS supporters might be pleased with this aggressive side of KTR, at the same time, this is apparently working against KTR as well.

A political observer commented that KDR built a clean and strong image amongst the younger generation with his refined verbal skills and polished look. Now this aggressive and provocative commentary might take him away from this very image. 

A few people are commenting that the Goodwill that KTR built amongst the youth with the polished presentation might be diminishing with this latest personal abuses on Revanth. At the end of the day, such aggressive and provocative politics are mastered by the likes of Revanth and KCR, so there was no need for KTR also to get indulged in the same. 

Veteran political analyst commented that KTR appeared to be falling in the trap set by the opponent troops and losing his cool, which will ultimately taken away the hard earned youthful exuberance.
