The Andhra Pradesh Assembly saw a light but sharp political moment during the budget sessions. Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu made a witty remark about the brief presence of YSRCP MLAs in the House.
YSRCP leaders came to the Assembly, marked their attendance, and left within minutes. This did not go unnoticed.
The Speaker pointed out an interesting pattern.
The date was 11th.
There were 11 YSRCP members present.
They stayed in the House for just 11 minutes.
Speaking to the media inthe Assembly lobby, Ayyanna Patrudu said they came, sat for 11 minutes, and walked out. This is purely a satire on YCP MLAs since their count in the assembly is 11, and ruling govt many times teased YCP with the same number.
Political observers feel the boycott may not help YSRCP. By staying away from the Assembly, the party could be missing strong opportunities to question the government.
The Laddu controversy could have been raised strongly in the House. Law and order issues, including cases involving Ambati Rambabu and Jogi Ramesh, could have been discussed.
Instead of focusing fully on the Assembly, YSRCP appears to be shifting its attention to the Legislative Council, where it has better numbers and stronger support.
