Telangana has entered the electoral battle again as the municipal elections are currently underway. After the polling process that got completed on February 11, the counting is currently happening today February 13.
Going by the early trends that are being exhibited by the Telangana municipal election counting numbers, it is evident that the rolling Congress is clearly in the lead .
Telangana Muncipal Elections So far:
Congress – 610
BRS – 292
BJP – 75
Others – 94 ( TDP – 1, Janasena -1)
While the ruling Congress is clearly ahead in the race, BRS is leading in less than half the positions. The interesting thing here is that Congress is said to be performing strongly even in the urban Telangana belt which is generally considered a weaker segment for the party.
Interestingly, enough, Telugu Desam and Janasena have also opened account in the municipal elections which is a positive sign.
BJP was expected to do better for the party will have to make do with whatever numbers it is now going to put up. It could perform expectedly well in the Nizamabad segment and rightly so as well.
