The Telugu Desam party had earlier initiated a historic membership registration drive as a part of which the party could add over one crore official members in the Telugu states of Andhra and Telangana. Notably, the TDP membership comes with a complimentary medical insurance for up to Rs 5 lakh which is a very good thing.
Now the Janasena party has initiated the exact same blueprint as Pawan Kalyan launched a membership drive for JSP earlier today.
Incidentally, on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri today, Kalyan donated Rs. 2 crores for membership registration drive and took the first membership.
“We started the party with 150 members. When we launched the first phase of active membership in 2021, we had 90,000 registrations. Before the elections, that number reached six lakhs.
After the elections, we achieved 12.98 lakh memberships. From those running small businesses to daily wage laborers and educated individuals, countless people became part of this process.” Kalyan noted on the occasion.
While Telugu Desam is already the biggest party on Telugu land in terms of registered members, Janasena could be aiming for a significant number itself. This will help create a strong bonding between the top leadership and the working cadres and it’s evident that JSP is taking a leaf from TDP’s book.
