Nara Lokesh to Meet and Taste Cova Bun from Vendor Vali

A recent incident that shook the moral conscience of the public after it went viral on social media platforms was the targeted humiliation of a street vendor, who was selling Kova Buns at the Medaram Jatara in Telangana, by an anonymous YouTube channel promoters over alleged food adulteration. 

Now, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh has responded on this controversy. Lokesh took to his X platform and expressed deep compassion for the seller, who was subjected to harassment without any firm basis on the allegations that he was selling contaminated and low quality buns to the public. 

Addressing the vendor as Brother, Lokesh called out the manner in which he was treated and what he endured during the distressing incident. Lokesh further stated that there is no place for divisive and communal behaviour in Telugu society and also promised to meet him soon and also taste the vendor’s famous Kova Bun. 

At a time when such pitiable and inhumane treatment of a small miserly vendor in the name of religion is bound to incite communal disharmony in the society, the timely response from a bigwig political leader like Nara Lokesh is a welcome sign as it will not only give a huge moral support to the targeted vendor but also proves that there is no place for communal hatred in the modern day society. 

As videos quickly went viral, there has been widespread support from all quarters towards the poor street vendor named Vali, who hails from Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. So many people have reached out to his family to lend financial and moral support. 

Many have condemned those who are trying to bring religion into the issue and also for making baseless allegations without any proof that the vendor was selling adulterated food.
