It is an established precedent that BRS working president KTR, and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan share a very close bonding. The two of them are very vocal and public about their mutual admiration.
On that note, KTR has made a very interesting revelation while speaking at a BRS party level meeting earlier today. He recalled about the time when he had to make a phone call to YS Jagan after BRS lost power in Telangana.
“Our Venkat anna( BRS MLC) came to me after we lost the election and asked me to call YS Jagan. He wanted to discuss some water distribution prospect with Jagan and I reminded him that we are not in power, and we can’t do anything.
But Venkat Anna was persistent and he made me call Jagan garu. Even Jagan Garu knew that I was calling upon the prompting of Venkat Anna and he himself told Venkat Anna had been persuading him as well.”
Going by the timeline that KTR spoke about today, it is evident that this phone call between him and Jagan happened right after BRS lost the election and Jagan was still the CM in AP.
Nevertheless, there was little KTR could have done, as BRS was already out of power and the election wave had begun in Andhra Pradesh as well, which restricted Jagan’s reach.
