How Fast Chandrababu Reacted After Samarlakota Blast

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu responded quickly after the deadly explosion at a firecracker unit in Vetlapalem near Samarlakota in Kakinada district. The blast, which took place on Saturday afternoon, claimed around 24 lives and left several others injured. The tragedy shocked the entire state.

As soon as he received information about the incident, Chandrababu cut short his tour in Vijayanagaram and immediately left for Kakinada. He spoke to senior officials on the way and directed them to speed up rescue and relief operations. Ministers and top officers were told to rush to the spot and take control of the situation.

After reaching the district, Naidu reviewed the ground situation and enquired about how the explosion happened. He met officials, checked on the rescue work, and assured support to the affected families. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and said the government stands firmly with the victims.

The state government announced an ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh for the families of each deceased victim. The injured are being given proper medical treatment, and the government has promised full assistance.

In a strong move, the government also took action against four officials for negligence related to safety supervision. They have been suspended, and a detailed inquiry is underway.

Rescue teams, police, and fire personnel continue to work in the area. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the blast and have been instructed to strictly enforce safety rules in all firecracker units across the state to avoid such incidents in future.
