The long pending murder case of YS Jagan Babi, former minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy has reached a crucial stage. The Supreme Court has directed the Telangana High Court to complete the trial and deliver its verdict within four weeks.
The court made it clear that the case should not be prolonged any further since the investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation has already been completed. Judges asked the High Court to examine the evidence and conclude the matter within the given time frame.
Vivekananda Reddy was found murdered at his residence in Kadapa on March 15, 2019. Initially, the incident was presented as a heart attack. However, the CBI investigation later revealed that it was a brutal murder.
Over the years, the case has seen several developments, including multiple charge sheets and fresh investigations. With the probe now complete, the focus has shifted to the final judgment.
The Supreme Court also advised the petitioner that any further doubts can be raised during the trial process. With the four week deadline now set, the court verdict in this high profile case is expected soon.
