YCP Files Case On Google, Lokesh Brings Another Big IT Company?

One of the hallmark investment projects in Andhra Pradesh is the Google data hub in Vizag Wich comes with a $15 billion investment. However, YCP is desperately fighting against this as the party’s Tirupati MP Maddali Gurumurthy has approached the AP High Court against allocation of land for this project.

While everyone is seeing this Google data centre in Vizag as the global opening for Andhra Pradesh, YCP clearly has a distant and opposite approach.

While YSR Congress ecosystem is fighting against Vizag prospect, IT Minister Lokesh is getting things done silently as something significant happened today.

Incidentally, Lokesh had a progressive meeting with Capgemini chief, Aiman Ezzat, the CEO of the company in Visakhapatnam today and invited them to set up an IT development centre & GCC that could create up to 20k jobs.

Along with the standard investment opportunity in Vizag, Lokesh pitched partnership ideas with Capgemini in several reformative fields like AI, cloud, cybersecurity and quantum technologies.

The presence of the Google data Centre, which is likely to initiate the process in April is certainly going to bring a lot of global attention to Vizag and this can get consolidated further if Capgemini also sets shop here.

Another crucial point that must be noted here is that Lokesh had already met with the representatives of Capgemini at the world economic forum in Davos earlier this year. So the meeting with the CEO of the company, today is more like a follow-up activity and could further activate the company to look at Vizag.

It is interesting to see the two contradictory stands taken by the opposition YCP and the ruling NDA towards developing Vizag and ultimately rebuilding Andhra Pradesh.
