Rajampet YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy has been in the news after his arrest in the alleged AP liquor scam. He is currently out on bail. Mithun Reddy is known to be a close aide of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
According to reports, Mithun Reddy’s cousin is involved in the barytes mining business. Recently, the Government of India reportedly introduced a policy to stop barytes mining as it is considered a limited natural resource. The move is believed to have affected businesses linked to the sector.
However, political circles are abuzz with reports that an IAS officer currently posted in Andhra Pradesh has allegedly accompanied the mining businessman to Delhi and is said to be lobbying with officials regarding the policy.
This development has reportedly raised eyebrows in the national capital, with discussions emerging about why a serving IAS officer would be involved in efforts related to the business interests of a family linked to an opposition MP.
The matter has drawn attention particularly because the MP is currently on bail in connection with the liquor scam case.
