It has been exactly 13 years since the launch of Janasena party, and it has been nothing short of a cinematic script that had resilience, humiliation and ultimately triumph of the highest order.
Roughly a decade and half ago, Pawan Kalyan had a settled lifestyle as he was one of the biggest stars in Telugu cinema and he was very comfortable with it. But he had this fight and fire within him to do something substantial and politics, and this drove to the launch of Janasena in 2013.
Considering the earlier failed of Praja Rajyam, which partially included Pawan Kalyan, this new launch of Janasena was questioned all over. But Kalyan fought on his own terms and supported TDP and BJP in 2014, without actually contesting the election.
Then came the big shock in 2019, when Kalyan led Janasena to its first ever election, and it didn’t end well. Kalyan himself ended up losing both Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram while Janasena won a single MLA seat who later defected to YCP. This was the lowest point that JSP had witnessed in its brief career.
While most people could have succumbed to this pressure and humiliation, it wasn’t the case with Pawan Kalyan. He first formed an electoral strategy with the BJP and later aligned with the TDP just before the 2024 election, paving the way for history to be created.
Kalyan was particularly instrumental in the cementing of the NDA alliance, and he was also overwhelmingly supportive of Chandrababu during the time of arrest. He showed the warrior spirit to hold his hand up while many others were literally shivering during Jagan’s regime.
Kalyan’s fighting spirit, TDP’s experience and ground work, paired with BJP’s Central stability stormed the NDA to power in AP in 2024 and this is a piece of history.
From being trolled extensively on social media and mainstream media in 2019, for losing both constituencies, Kalyan went to becoming the deputy CM and setting 100% strike rate by winning 23/23 contested seats. This is the kind of cinematic comebacks that we usually see in films but Kalyan turned it to reality.
And even after the formation of the government, Kalyan has been very grounded and hands-on with his administrative duties. The fight on Tirumala laddu, restoring forest cover, road projects in rural areas, Uppada fishermen issues, and much more have sculpted Kalyan’s poetical image in the last few years.
Thanks to the struggle that Kalyan sustained for the last 13 years, the upcoming future looks extremely positive for JSP and this is paired with the positive approach where PK says the NDA must be in power for at least next 15 years.
