The deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, has always had a close affinity with the tribal population in the state. This was evident in the way he frequently toured the agency region and distributed sarees and slippers to the locals based on their needs.
Incidentally, Kalyan took it to a new level altogether as he took part in the Janasena plenary event that was held in the Paderu constituency today. This is the first time that a mainstream party has held its plenary event in the tribal region. The government’s Mata Manthi programme also took place during his visit.
As expected, Kalyan took the occasion to make a strong pact with the tribal population as he made an honest appeal to them.
“Did the previous chief minister or your incumbent MLA visit this area anytime? The previous CM did not even let people get near him as he tormented them. But that is not the case with our government. We are here to listen to your problems and rectify them. We are people friendly government and will be with you at all times.” Kalyan stated today.
Kalyan spent a lot of time with the tribal population and got to know about the issues and properly reverted back by saying they would be addressed priority.
The deputy CM even inspected the roads that were laid in the agency region and also spoke about supply of food and water amenities to the locals.
The point to be noted here is that the agency regions had historically been with Jagan’s party and breaking this dominance was only possible in the 2024 election to an extent. And now, Kalyan has made a strong point in cementing the strength of NDA in the region and he appears to be a man on a mission.
One thing to be noted here is that Pawan had gone to Paderu primarily to celebrate Janasena party’s formation day. However, he kept the party celebration limited to just a few words. Instead, he chose to focus more on promoting the NDA government among the tribal communities.
He reminded them of their experience under the previous government and assured that the NDA would stand by them even if they did not vote for them. This rather unexpected approach clearly reflects Kalyan’s emphasis on strengthening the alliance and maintaining its stability going forward.
