Pawan Kalyan Misses Two Golden Chances!

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan apparently missed two golden chances. First, it was during the Dubbaka bypoll and second, during the recently held GHMC polls. Pawan had stayed away from both the polls which saw nail-biting contest among the candidates. Incidentally, in both the polls, the saffron brigade registered good result and Pawan did not have a chance to claim his role in both the cases, despite having an alliance with BJP.

Sources said that the BJP asked Pawan twice to campaign on behalf of the party for the Dubbaka bypoll. However, Pawan remained in Hyderabad but did not go to Dubbaka for electioneering yet the Lotus party leaders managed to defeat the candidate of the ruling TRS. In fact, the BJP did not have a strong reason for winning for the Dubbaka bypoll except that some anti-KCR forces ‘silently helped’ the saffron party. After the BJP winning the bypolls, Pawan issued a press release congratulating the party and ended the episode.

Coming to the GHMC polls, Pawan declared that Jana Sena would field candidates. Later, he withdrew from the polls following discussion with BJP MP and Union minister of state Kishan Reddy. At the same time, Kishan Reddy declared that Pawan would campaign for the BJP candidates in the GHMC polls. However, Pawan was not found during any of the election campaigns. At one time, the Jana Sainiks said that their party chief would campaign for the GHMC polls on November 28 and 29 but the polls ended without Pawan entering into the election scene.

There is no clue about why Pawan abstained from campaigning for the GHMC elections. Once the results were declared, people started praising the BJP for having won in 48 divisions. Pawan also joined them and issued a press release congratulating Telangana BJP state unit chief Bandi Sanjay on the occasion.

Had Pawan campaigned for both the polls, he too would have had a chance to claim some share in the victory of the BJP. Pawan had lost two opportunities to strengthen Jana Sena’s alliance with the BJP.
