The national capital of Delhi decides the political equilibrium of India and a similar scenario came up in the case of capital region of Andhra Pradesh Amaravati, which was officially declared in the Parliament last week.
The Delhi power corridors reverberated with Amaravati discussions for a full week starting from the Lok Sabha debate to Rajya Sabha resolution and then ultimately to the president’s office.
And now that the sequence of events is complete, and Amaravati is officially declared as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, the incumbent NDA government is showing its goodwill.
The interesting observation here is that it is Nara Lokesh who ran the show for the NDA government in the capital of Delhi and not his father, veteran Chandrababu.
Ideally, many people would have expected Chandrababu with all his experience to play the cards in Delhi but that didn’t happen. It was Lokesh who had been traveling to the capital region frequently and interacting with NDA MPs to share crucial knowledge. He was even present at the Parliamentary session during the announcement.
And now that the process has been completed, Lokesh has been gone to Delhi and this time to thank the President of India, Draupadi Murmu for passing the gazette notification on Amaravati last week.
There is a clear transition in the representation of the NDA government at the centre level as it is Lokesh, who is in increasingly taking of this position in the place of his father, Chandrababu. Not too long ago, Chandrababu was the one calling the shots for the government but the switch to Lokesh has been rather smooth and surprisingly quick.
