Hormuz Peace Deal: Is The US-Iran War Finally Ending?

If the ongoing negotiations between both the United States of America and Iran yield a positive outcome, the three month long confrontation between both sides might finally come to a end with key terms and conditions as a binding clause in the much needed peace deal.

As per global news reports, the latest agreement is going to involve a 60 day ceasefire extension during which the crucial waterway Strait of Hormuz will return to its pre-war state and also includes a pivotal negotiation over the Iran’s nuclear ambitions that has played a significant role in the previous peace talks between the two nations.

A draft Memorandum of Understanding is likely to be signed that will see Iran clearing the mines from the Strait of Hormuz and allow ships to pass without tolls. In exchange, Washington would lift its blockade on Iranian ports and issue limited sanctions waivers permitting Tehran to sell oil freely during the 60-day period.

Reliable reports suggest that Iran has agreed to give up its stockpile of highly enriched uranium as part of the broader peace talks. This is another key aspect that US has been insisting as part of its negotiations.

This positive latest update comes after President Donald Trump on Saturday hinted that the deal with Iran was largely negotiated. However, it is still not certain until both countries make a deal and official announce the same because several previous negotiations failed to reach the desired agreement and prolonged the war until today.

The US – Iran war has already resulted in considerable damage in the last three months with fuel and natural gas prices soaring all over the globe due to the restrictions on Strait of Hormuz. Moreover, the fears of the crisis becoming more worse in the coming days has created panic among the public.

Despite repeated rounds of talks, there has been no mutual understanding between the two sides till now. So, all eyes will now be on the crucial and final talks which will decide the course of the war.
