The denial of permission for Jana Sena’s Telangana Nava Nirmana Sankalpa Sabha has triggered a fresh political row. After both the police and the High Court refused permission for the event, Pawan Kalyan addressed the media and reacted strongly.
Questioning those trying to stop his entry into Telangana, Pawan asked, “Is Telangana your father’s estate?” He expressed anger over attempts to prevent him from holding political meetings in the state.
Pawan said his connection with Telangana is not new and reminded everyone that he had travelled extensively across the region long before many of his present day critics emerged. He recalled visiting even Naxal affected areas like Adilabad.
Clarifying his stand, Pawan said Jana Sena is not against Telangana. He stressed that his opposition was only to the manner in which Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated by closing Parliament doors and pushing through the process.
The Jana Sena chief said his party stands for a social Telangana where all communities prosper together. He added that Telangana people stood by him during difficult times and there was no need for him to prove his love and respect for Telangana culture and its people.
