Big Heads Leaving, BJP Collapsing, What’s Up?

Tamil Nadu BJP has reached its saturation point in the recent assembly election as the party could not have any kind of impact on the electoral outcome. The inactivity of crucial leaders like Annamalai has shown a lot of effect on the party.

Now we have arrived at a point where several leaders have started to quit the party, perhaps out of exhaustion.

The biggest name of the lot is obviously Annamalai who has resigned to the party and has launched his own political movement, which will be active in Tamil Nadu by 2031 assembly election. This was not the end of the story as a couple of other crucial leaders have also with the party.

Reportedly Tamil Nadu, BJP vice president Nagarajan and 15 other crucial leaders for the party in the state functionary have quit their positions after Annamalai. Almost all of them have joined the political movement of Annamalai.

It is evident that the departure of Annamalai has started to show negative effects in Tamil Nadu. BJP functionaries and political experts are commenting that the saffron party could struggle in the state at this pace. With several key leaders leaving the party, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the BJP to hold its ground there.

There was indeed the vacuum for the third party in Tamil Nadu after years of DMK and AIDMK domination, but this was quickly filled up by Thalapathy Vijay’s TVK. This might have shut down the doors for the BJP.
