The largest Hindu temple, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam of Lord Venkateswara Swamy has relaxed some of its current rules for devotees visiting the shrine. These rules will be of major relief for Non-Resident Indians in particular.
As per the latest update, the TTD has announced a significant update to its darshan rules. Additionally, the temple trust highlighted active devotee participation in its specialized cardiac healthcare scheme.
Accordingly, time limit for NRIs to avail of the special Supatham entry has been modified from existing 30 days to 90 days from their arrival in India with immediate effect. Till now, NRI devotees wanting to take darshan through the Supatham passage had to report within 30 days of landing in the country.
From now onwards, the eligibility window has been extended to 90 days. This much needed enhancement comes after several demands from the NRI community because the 30 days timeframe is so tight and causing inconvenience for those coming from foreign once in a while.
Also, TTD has decided to encourage more devotees towards donating for the Appanna Hrudaya Scheme, which funds for heart related surgeries with free of cost. TTD is now offering VIP Break Darshan for up to five people to anyone who donates Rs. 1 lakh to the Apanna Hrudaya Trust.
Ever since the Appanna Hrudaya Scheme has been introduced, so many devotees have been coming forward to contribute their bit for the charitable deed. So, TTD came up with the Free Darshan initiative so that the donations will increase and also helps in funding for some operations in the coming days.
