Vijayawada Lockup case has become a talking point across the state.
The Opposition has alleged that a 25 Year Old Sai Krishna was picked up by Vijayawada’s Krishnalanka police from Markapur in Prakasam district last month. Since then, his family claims they have received no information regarding his whereabouts.
They say that Sai Krishna was killed in the Police Custody and his body was disposed of.
What they do not say is that Sai Krishna is a Rowdy-Sheeter.
Keeping that aside, if we closely observe, Kapu leaders from YSR Congress are aggressively pursuing this issue. Sai Krishna is also from the same community.
The plan is to use this issue and divide the Kapu Votebank of Janasena and dent the chances of the alliance in 2029 elections.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan seems to have acted in haste.
After the controversy, authorities initially transferred Krishnalanka Circle Inspector Nagaraju to the vacancy reserve.
Acting under pressure, Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to suspend the officer and order a formal investigation.
An IPS-level probe has since been ordered, with East Godavari Superintendent of Police Narasimha Kishore appointed as the inquiry officer.
The Government should have put up a brave face in the issue and allow the procedure to go on.
If YSR Congress is trying to use the issue politically, they should have exposed how Sai Krishna is a Rowdy sheeter says political analysts.
Once it is established, the sympathy the Opposition is trying to stir will automatically be lost.
Instead, the Government unnecessarily panicked.
